Obituary of Joann Brochu JOANN M. (HANNIGAN) BROCHU Latham- Joann M. (Hannigan) Brochu, 56 of Latham, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Troy on March 24, 1962, she was the daughter of James and Nancy (Burt) Hannigan Sr. Joann was married to Steven L. Brochu on August 10, 1985 and shared a devoted and blessed union of almost 33 years together. Joann was employed with Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company in East Greenbush for 25 years.

She was also a member of the Wynantskill Fire Department Ladies Aux. , Past President and Life Member. She was President of her Sorority and was a Leader in the Boy Scouts as well as the Girl Scouts.

Joann coached softball, little league and soccer. First and foremost she enjoyed traveling with her family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She always made the best out of any situation and was the glue that kept the family together.

Joann made a positive impact on all the lives she touched. In addition to her beloved husband Steven, she is survived by her loving sons Jonathan and his wife Hillary Brochu of Loudonville, Andrew Brochu and Cameron Brochu both of Latham as well as her cherished grandson Maxwell Brochu. She is also survived by her parents James and Nancy Hannigan of Wynantskill, 7 siblings Colleen, James, Maureen, Kathleen, Janice, Kimberly and Patrick and her in-laws Leo and Dawn Brochu of Glens Falls and Rene, Ronald, Nancy, Edmund and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday July 9, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 pm at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Joann’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 10 at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Fr. Brian Kelly officiating.
