NAUGATUCK- Joaquim Ferreira Da Fonseca, 88, of Naugatuck, died November 20th at Vitas Hospice at St Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Maria Elaine (Amador) Fonseca. Joaquim was born in Pardilho, Portugal May 27th, 1930, son of the late Manuel Marques and Belmira (Ferreira) Fonseca.

He worked as a carpenter and also worked as a boat builder and bridge builder. In addition to his wife of 70 years, Joaquim leaves two sons Antonio Fonseca and his wife Millie and Manuel Fonseca, of Naugatuck; brother Manuel Fonseca and his wife Assuncao of Naugatuck; four grandchildren four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Jose and Antonio, sisters Teresa and Emilia , son Alberto and granddaughter Gina.

ARRANGEMENTS-Funeral Services will held Saturday, November 24th at 11:00 A.M. at Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St.James Cemetery, Cross Street Naugatuck. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
