Mr. Joe Howard Brown age 78 of Springfield passed away March 2, 2019, at his home. A native of Robertson County, he was the son of the late Vestel Savage Brown and Alma Lou Carroll Brown. He was a 1958 graduate of Springfield High School.

On November 22, 1961, he married Christine Vaden, who is the daughter of the late Herman and Susie Woodard Vaden who were natives of Smith County. He was a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield. He retired as supervisor from the Peterbilt Corp.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Christine Vaden Brown; two children: Tina (Frank) Schnitzler, Kirby Joe (Felicia) Brown; grandson, Michael Owen Brown; two sisters: Betty Holt, Shirley (Dickie) Smith. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Drucilla (Russell) Cron, Juanita (Ted) West; brother-in-law: Robert Holt. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. from the South Haven Baptist Church, Hwy 41, Springfield, with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers: Charles Bilyeu, Michael Brown, John Wayne Allen, Ty Epley, Dennis Allen, James Smith. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. LIGON & BOBO FUNERAL HOME , in charge of arrangements.
