Lillian Barbara Simmons, age 88, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at NHC Healthcare. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother John Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Simmons Family Cemetery with Mrs. Simmons’ grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2-7pm and again on Monday from 12pm until the hour of service at 2pm. Mrs. Simmons was born November 3, 1930 in Springfield to the late Dawson and Nell Carver Keith. She was a homemaker and member of the Fykes Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Simmons is preceded in death by her brothers, Rayburn Keith and Earl Keith. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband, Guthrie Simmons; sons, Ronnie (Donna) Simmons of Springfield and Stanley (Charlotte) Simmons of Orlinda; daughter, Barbara (Ford) Laster of Elkton, KY; and grandchildren, Tim Simmons, Robert Simmons, David Simmons, Jerry Simmons, Brandon Simmons and Kelsey McGee. Mrs. Simmons is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
