Obituary for Joe Elizalde Joe Elizalde age 89, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Covenant Copper. Joe was born March 20, 1929 in Carrollton, Michigan the son of Luther and Maria (Moreno) Elizalde. He served in the United States Army during the Koran Conflict.

Joe was united in marriage to the former Frances Perez in 1954. Joe was a member of the Knight of Columbus, Council #4232 and the American Legion Post #500. He enjoyed spending time out at the Independence Village in Frankenmuth with his special friend, Shirley Laounsberry.

Joe also enjoyed spending time outside; whether it was gardening, yardwork or just listening to his music. Joe is survived by his children; Stephen, Clifford (Kelly) and David Elizalde, grandchildren; JoAnn, Kyle, Kari, and Kaley Elizalde special friend; Shirley Laounsberry, sister; Julie Elizalde and several nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his wife; Frances and granddaughter; Cami Elizalde.

The family of Joe would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Covenant Copper ICU, for their outstanding care and for going up and beyond for Joe and his family. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Joe will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), with Pastor Richard Sayad to officiate.

Committal and Military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army and American GI Forum will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends and family with gather on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
