Obituary for John A. Baker John A. Baker, 75, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at his home. He was born March 20, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Albert and Audrey Malone Baker. He and Karen Points were married October 4, 1967 at Cape Girardeau.

He served in the United States Navy for 25 years. He was a graduate of Cape Central High School in 1961 and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in 1972. He was owner of Cape Paint & Glass since 1984.

He was a member of VFW, Boy Scout Leader, Eagle Scout, Exchange Club Board of Director, and SEMO Contractor Association (previous secretary). He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Karen Baker of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Kevin (Amanda) Baker of Gordonville, Missouri and John (Dana) Matthew Baker of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Sally Loos of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Albert Baker of Saint Louis, Missouri, Tom Baker of Cape Girardeau, and Jeffrey Baker of Galviston, Texas; five grandchildren, Jessica Baker of Festus, Missouri, Hunter Baker of Cape Girardeau, Karyssa Harrison of Gordonville, Megan Bomar of Cape Girardeau, and Hunter Bomar of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Cohen McHughs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Paige Bomar. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev.

Joe Rowley Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice Inc. or American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at www.
