John Anthony Jurisic, 70, of Dubuque, IA passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. John was born on November 6, 1947 in Dubuque the son of John A. and Delaine (Avenarius) Jurisic.

He worked at Fisher Cold Storage, the Dubuque Packing Co., FDL and Farmland Foods. He was a member of the UFCW local 150A. John was always ready to help anyone in need and was especially fond of his dogs.

He is survived by his siblings Donna (Ken) Hartung of Shullsburg, WI, Janice (Stan) Mahe, Sherry (Ron) Schmitt, Dennis (Peggy) Jurisic, and Rick (Traci) Jurisic all of Dubuque along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and great nephews Tyler and Ethan Walker, Evelyn Birch, and Adrian Jurisic Williams Jr. and a cousin Ruth Ann Jurisic. In lieu of flowers a John Jurisic memorial fund has been established.
