John’s Obituary Colonial Funeral home- 2170 Highway 88 Brick, New Jersey 08724 John D. Durando, 69, of Toms River passed away May 8, 2019 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Jersey City, NJ. He has lived in Toms River for the past 30 years.

Predeceased by his sister, Donna and his brother, Jim. John served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War; stationed aboard the USS Robert K Huntington (DD781), as a Boatswain’s Mate. He later became a member of the United Service Workers Union, having worked as an auto mechanic until he retired.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and trips to Atlantic City, where he played Blackjack and video poker. John is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, and his two sons, John, and Anthony, as well as his granddaughter, Mackenzie Grace. Visitation will be Monday May 13.

2019 from 9:00 am- 11:00 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88, Brick. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
