John Daniel Stack, June 08, 1938 — January 28, 2019

John’s Obituary John Daniel Stack, Senior of Lodi CA formerly of Fremont CA and Lorain OH passed away on Monday, January 28th 2019 at the age of 80 years. John was born in Lorain OH, son of James and Alma on June 3, 1938. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Anne Beko Stack and his son, John Stack Jr, residing in Livermore CA.

John was the proud grandfather of Sasha Markham, her husband Sean Markham and two great grandchildren Koston and Annika. John and Mary Anne were marriedon a cold snowy day in Amherst OH on January 20, 1962. They moved to California in 1973 when John was transferred to the Northwest Airlines San Francisco Ground Service Crew.

He worked there for 27 years until he was forced to retire for health reasons. He continued to stay in contact with many of his fellow workers and several of his Ohio school mates throughout his retired life. John and Mary Anne lived in Fremont until 1993, when they moved to Mesa AZ.

But being long term California residents and missing it, they moved back to Lodi CA in 1997 and continue to call Lodi “home”. John enjoyed his work at Northwest Airlines as a ground crew maintenance worker and shared many stories of the “happenings” behind the scenes in the airline business. He often proudly called himself a “pilot” – he piled things here and he piled it there.

John’s humor will be greatly missed! John spent weekends playing guitar in the LampLighters band in Ohio. He enjoyed playing at weddings and other private events.

When he moved to California, he continued to play his guitar for family and as a hobby. A small private memorial service will be held in his honor at Lodi Funeral Home on February 9th, 2019. GarySiniseFoundation.org which helps our wounded soldiers and their families. He felt that enough was not done to help the veterans of our armed forces.
