JOHN’s Obituary JOHN DOMENIC MARANO, age 70, beloved husband of 41 years to Christine; loving father to Elizabeth (Gregory) Marano-Martin and Michelle (Nathan) Marano; grandfather to Liam Joseph Alexander Martin; dear brother of Elizabeth Jean Sellers; uncle to Amanda (Chris) Shannon, great uncle to Adaline Shannon; son of Elizabeth McManamon Marano (deceased) and Domenic John Marano (deceased); grandson to Pauline Bushman McManamon (deceased). John held a career as a mechanical engineer for thirty-eight years. He was formerly employed by Firestone, The Cleveland Clinic, UCI Industries, Aircraft Braking Systems, and retired from Duramax Marine, LLC.

He loved spending many summers on his boat with his wife and daughters. He would swim, ski, and lunch with family on Berlin Lake or out at Cumberland Lake, KY. John was also an avid skier, often going on trips to Holiday Valley.

He loved the black diamond hills. John also enjoyed playing with his cats; Annabelle, Olivia, Kitka, Audrey, Violet, and Hazel. As a car enthusiast, John was a proud owner of two corvettes.

One of the cars was later purchased by a former Brown’s player. John loved to be outside cutting grass with his John Deere tractor. He was very proud of both his daughters and instilled in them the value of hard work, not taking anything on face value alone, and always loving one’s family.

He spent his retirement years pursuing his interests in research of familial lineage, lawn maintenance, and spending time with his daughters. John was deeply loved by his family and he will be greatly missed. “Until we meet again!

” The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their care in John’s home. John passed away at home February 13, 2019. Funeral Mass Friday, February 22, St. Angela Merici Church (20970 Lorain Rd.

Fairview Park) at 10 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME of CLEVELAND, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR.
