John E. Mahlon Sr., 69, DuBois, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Born August 18, 1949, in Clearfield, he was the son of the late John T. Mahlon and E. Jane (McClinsey) Mahlon. His mother survives.

On July 3, 1971, he married Victoria “Vikki” Gearhart in Luthersburg. She survives. John graduated from Curwensville in 1967 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Hiram G. Andrews School.

He was employed as a baker for Riverside for 25 years, worked… Read More » at the DuBois Dairy Queen, and served as an accountant at the Clearfield Beauty Academy. John was a member of the Lions Club in Grampian, Bucktail Reenactment, and the First Baptist Church. He was active in various church activities, including being “Rocky” the clown for Rockton Community Bible Church.

John enjoyed baking special occasion cakes, hunting, fishing, reading, and watching NASCAR, PSU, and the Steelers. He valued his friendship with those in the Amish community. John is survived by two children, John E. Mahlon Jr. and his companion, Vicki, of Grampian and Chad E. Mahlon and his companion, Julie, of Montrose, PA; three grandchildren, Steven and his mother, Linda, Jeffrey, and his mother, Meghan, and Caleb and his mother, Amber; four siblings, Nancy (Sam) Gearhart, Madera, Eileen (Mike) Krom, Texas, Roger (Barb) Mahlon, Virginia, and Barbara (Harry) Roules, Grampian, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and two infant brothers, George and Robert. Friends and family will be received Monday, October 1, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. and Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church. Following Tuesday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev.

Mark Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the DuBois Christian School, 197 Eastern Ave.
