John’s Obituary John Edward Miller, 70, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at his residence. The Ironton native was born October 22, 1948, the son of the late Ray and Dorothy Hutchinson Miller. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Carol Hanshaw.

John was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Ohio University, where he received his Masters Degree. He was a retired educator with Rock Hill School District and Ohio University and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ironton. He loved the Rock Hill Redmen sports teams, all his former students, friends, and also loved reading and writing poetry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister: Delores Sturgill a brother: Donald Ray Miller He is survived by: two sons: David Miller of Ironton and Christian Miller of Chillicothe, OH a grandson: Zachary Miller of Ironton a brother: Ronald Miller of Atlanta, GA a niece: Rhonda Miller Neal of Atlanta, GA two nephews: Shawn Miller and Todd Miller both of Atlanta, GA There will be a service held at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio is assisting the family with the arrangements.
