Roy’s Obituary Roy Mullins, 88, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born December 30, 1930, the son of the late Hobert and Addie Keaton Mullins. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty G. Waddle Mullins, whom he married November 22, 1952.

Mr. Mullins was a graduate of Pedro High School and a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Coal Terminal Inc. for more than 20 years and a Lawrence County Deputy Sheriff. He was the owner of Mullins Service Station and Tire Shop and also a member of the VFW.

Mr. Mullins was a born again Christian and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a former trustee for Elizabeth Township and a board member for the Rock Hill School District. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: an infant son: Jeffery L. Mullins two sisters: Phyllis Kelley and Florence Smith two brothers: Hobert “Whitey” Mullins and Lloyd Mullins In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters: Pam (Rick) Stover of Chesapeake, OH and Debbie (Tim) Akers of Ironton a sister: Sue (Joe) Joseph Madden of Kentucky three grandchildren: Jessica (Zack) Travis, Katie (Matt) Cole, and Adam (Danielle) Crabtree and seven great grandchildren: Morgan and Marlee Travis, Jacob and Madison Crabtree, Grayson Cole, Olivia Blythe and Brady Akers and many special and close friends Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Billy McFann officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
