Peggy’s Obituary Peggy Joan Rowe George of Ironton, Ohio passed away March 19, 2019 at River Bend Assisted Living Home in Wheelersburg. She was 85 years old. Peggy was born on July 22, 1933 in Ironton, Ohio.

She was the daughter of Gordon and Nora Waugh Rowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Kimberly George and three sisters, Mary Lou Akers, Nellie Shope, and Elinora Gallaher. On February 27, 2008, she lost her loving husband and friend of 57 years, Edward William George.

Peggy is survived by her three children Patricia George, Kathy (Ed) Easterling and Kevin George all of Ironton. Six grandchildren: Amanda Carpenter, Joella (Rick) Barber, Kasey (John) Kirkpatrick, Eddie Easterling, Krissy (Ricky) Freeman, and Josh (Wanda) Easterling Eleven great-grandchildren: Ethan Carpenter, Nathan Barber, Adrian Barber, Corbun Kirkpatrick, Jensen Kirkpatrick, Brady Freeman, Brock Freeman, Brooklyn Freeman, Lexy Easterling, J.J. Easterling, and McKenzie Easterling. She is also survived by one brother: Gordan F. Rowe Jr. and a sister-in-law Linda Rowe of Ironton and a brother-in-law John Corn of Ironton.

Peggy owned, operated, and worked side by side with her husband and family at George Electric Supply in Coal Grove, Ohio. She lived in both Germany and France in her early years while stationed with her husband Ed when he was in the Army. Peggy was a very talented porcelain doll maker, loved music, and dancing.

She enjoyed her weekly senior dances with friends. She cherished her family and friends throughout her life. A special thanks to River Bend Assisted Living Home in Wheelersburg, Ohio for their loving care and support, and also to Heartland Hospice for making her comfortable in her last few days.

God Bless you all. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday March 22,2019 at Phillips Funeral Home 1004 South Seventh Street in Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Bob Morrow and Duane Knittel officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
