Charles’ Obituary Charles Austin Russell, age 66, passed away at Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson, Ohio on Friday, February 8, 2019. He was born in Ironton, Ohio on April 20, 1952, the son of W. Donald and Georgia (Austin) Russell who preceded him in death. Charlie is survived by two sisters, Ann Russell (Terry) Wise of South Point, Ohio and Jane Russell (Dick) Smith of Jackson, Ohio.

Also surviving are nephews Eric (Mandy) Wise, Terry Wise and Travis (Stacy) Wise of South Point, niece Allyson (David) Wessells of Upper Arlington, nephew Thad (Nichole) Smith of Chillicothe and several great nieces and nephews. When young , Charlie attended several boarding schools until local programs were developed which included The open Door School and Tri State Industries. After moving to Jackson he was a client of J-VAC Industries.

Charlie lived at Holzer Assisted Living for nearly seventeen years where he was surrounded by loving and caring staff and residents. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Janie Karl officiating.

Charles will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery, next to his mother. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of the service, at the funeral home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Open Door School c/o Lawrence County Board of DD, 421 Lorain Street, Ironton OH 45638.
