Dr. John Gamble, Jr. age 80, of Overland Park, died early Sunday morning on July 22, 2018, with his family by his side. John was born January 17, 1938, in Mangum, OK, to John and Callie (Harris) Gamble. He was raised in Mangum and graduated from Mangum High School, in 1956.

John married Delores on Nov. 11th of 1961, in Kansas City, MO. He earned his medical degree from Kansas City School of Osteopathic Medicine, in 1971.

Following his medical training, he practiced medicine for 30 plus years. Dr. Gamble was board certified by the Academy of Family Physicians. John was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Dr. Gamble was known to his colleagues, nurses, and patients as a compassionate, caring physician. Survivors include his wife Delores of Overland Park, KS and his four children, Darla, John, Brian, and Robert; six grandchildren, Demetrius, Brandon, Jessica, Jordan, Jonelle, Mia, and Jalen; brother-in-law Lee Richardson; and one sisters-in-law, Gladys Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Henderson.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave. , Overland Park, KS 66210. A private family inurnment will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Johnson County Memorial Gardens Indoor Mausoleum.
