John Ival Buzzard, Sr., age 76, Jefferson, died Friday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation surrounded by his family. He was born December 23, 1942 in Geneva, the son of Gail I. & Frances E. (Fink) Buzzard and has been a resident of the Jefferson area all of his life. Following graduation from Jefferson High School in 1961 John joined the Ohio National Guard and in 1964 enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era.

He was a graduate of the General Motors Training Center. John was married to Quinne M. Wludyga on August 2, 1965. He owned and operated John’s Place Auto Body for many years where his passion for detail was displayed in his quality work.

John then worked and retired from the Jefferson Village Street Dept. in 2005. He attended the Jefferson United Methodist Church and was an active member of the community.

He belonged to the Jefferson Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch with his coffee, listening to the birds and watching the deer. He also loved restoring antique tractors, spending time with his family and traveling with his honey, Paula.

He is survived by two children, Gwendolyn Jo (Darren) Buell & John I. (Michele) Buzzard, Jr., both of Jefferson; seven grandchildren, Cooper (Elizabeth) McMannes, Geary R. (Brandy) McMannes, Rachel E. Burr, Blaze P. (Kayla) Burr, Jarrett M. Buell, Lauren M. Buzzard & Christopher J. Buzzard; four beautiful great-grandchildren, Emma, Adin, Winifred & Delaney and his companion, Paula Overly of Williamsfield Twp. , he also leaves behind the extended Wludyga family, who felt John was like a brother and uncle. His parents and wife, Quinne preceded him in death.

Honoring John’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. His cremains will be joined with his wife Quinne’s cremains and buried in Oakdale Cemetery. John suggested in his pre-arrangements, memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, OH 44047.
