William (Bill) Hamilton, Lenox Township, was received into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 26th after a six-year courageous battle with heart failure. Bill was born in Ashtabula, the first child of James B. and Wilma Mae (Kubicek) Hamilton. He grew up on the Hamilton Farms Dairy on Webster Road in Lenox Township and helped deliver milk to local camps and schools.

He attended Lenox and Jefferson Schools and graduated from Cedarville College. He worked for United Parcel Service for 33 years before retiring in 2003. He married Barbara Joan Nolen in Lakeland, Florida on September 25, 1965 and they were married 53 ½ years.

They were blessed with four grandchildren, Franz Mussi, Ty, Wyatt and Lyla Hamilton. He attended Bethel Bible Church which his grandparents helped establish nearly sixty years ago.

He was the last surviving member of the original members. His grandchildren are the fifth generation of his family attending the church presently. For 50 years, he worked with youth of all ages and finally with the seniors.

He loved to travel and he and his wife enjoyed researching and discovering historical sites for material for the Jefferson Gazette. He loved farming and he and his son James ran a hay operation. He loved, collected and drove Minneapolis Moline tractors.

People were drawn to him because of his genuine interest in them. He always thought of others before himself. He was a quiet, gentle person.
