Obituary for Mr. John M. Mulligan John M. Mulligan, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born on Aug. 7, 1929, in Daviess County to the late Erle Mulligan and Corrine Riney Mulligan.

John was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, William Joseph Mulligan and Harold Mulligan; and five sisters, Suzetta Elbehar, Geraldine Simmons, Marian Mattingly, Mildred Timbrook, and Frances Boswell O’Bryan. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Louise Dant Mulligan; three sons, John Mulligan, Jr., Bob (Ann) Mulligan, and Bernie (Vicki) Mulligan, all of Owensboro; two daughters, Kathy (Tom) Jenny and Jenny (Greg) Bacon, all of Owensboro; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Ann Hardy, Mary Jane Alexander, and Martha Jean (Jim) Kaufield all of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. The family of Mr. Mulligan will welcome family and friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Church. Prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
