Obituary for Julia Katheryn McDaris Julia Katheryn (Smith) McDaris, 69, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born on Monday, October 18th, 1948 in Louisville, the daughter of the late Lawrence “Woody” and Freda (Givan) Smith. Julia was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of University of Louisville and Indiana Wesleyan University where she attained her APRN, BSN, CCRN and RN. She worked for Jewish Hospital for 25 years and was a nurse practitioner. She also loved art, to garden and to read.

Julia is survived by her husband of 23 years, Steven McDaris; their two daughters, Jenny Murphy of Florida and Nikki Cummings of Louisville; one granddaughter, Killien Murphy of Florida; one brother, David Smith (Denise) of Ohio and their two children, Adam Smith of North Carolina and Aaron Smith of Sommerset. There will be a grave side service at the Smith Family Cemetery on Neafus Road on Monday, April 2nd at 12 Noon CST. Bro David Brown to officiate.
