John “Paul” West, age 84, of Lamesa passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas. Paul was born in Sarepta, LA to Ottis and Winnie West on October 20, 1933. He went to school in Coahoma, Texas.

He married Nina Rice on June 25, 1957 in Lenorah, Texas. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. Paul was a Baptist and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife, Nina West of Lamesa; son, John A. West of San Angelo. Public viewing will be held 8am – 8pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Branon Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Coahoma Cemetery with Pastor Robert Davis officiating.

Arrangements under the direction of Ben Zapata with Guajardo Funeral Chapel of Lubbock with local arrangements by Branon Funeral Home.
