John R. Hodge, 85, of Jonesborough went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Life Care Center of Gray. He was a native of Johnson County and son of the late Fayette and Mamie Dugger Hodge. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Johnson City.

John Retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He enjoyed farming, loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren and great granddaughters. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Garst Hodge, brother Edgar Hodge, and sister Roselee Lones.

Those left to cherish John’s memory include his daughter, Debra Kay Campbell and husband Billy Don, grandson, Daniel Campbell and wife Grace, granddaughter Kristin Campbell and great granddaughters Ella and Kammie Campbell along with several nieces and nephews. The family will gather with friends to share memories on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5:00 pm until a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Dr. Jody Jenkins officiating. A Graveside and Committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday March 2, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery in Jonesborough.

Johns Nephews will serve as Pallbears. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:55pm. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amy Hurd and Wellmont Medical Associates along with Dr. Merrick.
