Connie Louise Baker Blevins, age 73, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital due to complications with surgery. Connie was born July 6, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Carl and Etta Young Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis “Ike” Blevins, Sr.; brothers-in-law from her husband’s family: Lee Blevins, Roy Blevins and Ronnie Patrick.

Connie was a 1963 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She worked at Sonny’s Sunshine Market for 10 years before becoming a full time homemaker. She enjoyed playing Rook cards with her friends and was an avid reader.

Connie volunteered on the Carter County Library Board for many years. She was also very active in the Keenburg FCE Club (Family and Community Education Club). Connie was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church and loved to attend church.

She also loved going out to eat and shopping. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Laura Blevins and son-in-law, Shane Hardin; her son, Dennis Blevins, Jr. and girlfriend, Carolyn Arnold; and great grandson, Justin Parlier; one brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Vivian “Sam” Baker; several sisters and brothers-in-law from her husband’s family including: Brenda and Jerry Blevins, Judy and Joe Post, Kathy and Phil Blevins, Doris and Mac Blevins, and Hassie and Frank Eades, Carolyn Blevins, Marie Blevins and Elizabeth Patrick; as well as several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Connie Louise Baker Blevins will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev.

Frank Osborne, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Tuesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in the Emmert Cemetery with Rev.
