Judy Kaye Holmes King, age 71, of Bluff City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from the NHC Healthcare. Judy was born in Lebanon, Virginia to Elizabeth Pauline Counts Holmes, of Castlewood, Virginia and the late Robert K. Holmes. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Ray King.

Judy and her husband were owners and operators of King Trucking Company and Bluff City Coal Company for many years and she attended Tri-Cities Church of God. She was a very active member of the Communication Workers of America and was also a member of the Women’s Auxillary for the VFW. Judy was also a former member of the Bluff City Ruritan and was a past Alderwoman of Bluff City.

In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and doing things for others. Judy also loved and enjoyed playing with her dogs, Yeller and Piper. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, MaLinda “Mindy” Davis, of Bluff City and SaBrina Smith and husband Jason, of Piney Flats; her grandchildren, Jonna Berry and husband Justin, of Bluff City, Chance Davis, of Bluff City, Hunter Thomas Davis, Bluff City, Carson Arnold, of Piney Flats and Cassidy Arnold, of Piney Flats; one great grandson, Jace Berry, of Bluff City; a brother, Bobby Joe Holmes, of St. Paul, VA; two sisters, Barbara Jane Arnold, of Bristol, TN and Robin Burton and husband Pete, of St. Paul, VA; her “partners in crime” Faye Morris and Sheila Crutchfield.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to celebrate the life of Judy Kaye Holmes King will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2019 in the Bluff City Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Bawgus, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday or at the residence of daughter, SaBrina Smith, at other times.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 27, 2019 in the Sunrise Cemetery in Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be Chance Davis, Hunter Davis, Jerry Sanslow, Justin King, Mark Stallard and Kebo Scalf. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell King, Bob Crutchfield, Bill Newton and Larry McReynolds.

Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Monday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Tri-Cities Church of God, 238 Jonesboro Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
