Obituary for John Schave Jr. JOHN SCHAVE, Jr., age 86 of Port Hope, passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living, under hospice care. He was born on July 5, 1932 in Port Hope to the late John and Alice (Pascke) Schave. He and Marion (Mickey) Wisenbaugh were united in marriage on November 30, 1957 in St. Johns.

She preceded him in death on September 8, 1988. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. John worked for General Motors, retiring on October 1, 1996.

John was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, the AmVets Post of Port Hope, and the Grindstone Port Hope Sportsman Club. John enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his children: Kimberly (Thomas) Lang of Elyria, OH, and John (Lori) Schave of Yale, grandchildren: John and Jacob Holmen.

John was preceded in death by his brothers; Marvin Victor and Wallace Schave, sisters: Burnetta MacFarlane and Laverna Fantore Funeral Services for John will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Falls Cemetery.

Military Honors will be given for John at the cemetery. Visitation for John will be Thursday, from 2-8p at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Friday will be at the church, beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am.

A White Clover Service will take place on Thursday at 7pm, followed by a scripture service at 7:30 pm. John’s family would like to thank Meadow Lane Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of John. Memories can be shared at www.
