John W. “Jack” Brown, age 56 of Cheboygan passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his home. He was born June 20, 1962 in Iron Mountain, the son of Robert and Delores (Bonner) Brown. Jack graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1980 and was a member of the Sault Ste.

Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He had worked as a chef at Hoppies Tavern for over 25 years and enjoyed golfing, hunting, riding motorcycles and had a tremendous love for his family. Survivors include his sister, Kathy (Gene) Waybrant of Topinabee, nephew, Travis Waybrant of East Jordan, niece, Kortnee Waybrant of Sault Ste.

Marie, great nieces and nephews, Autumn, Rhyan, Atre’ju, Gavin and Calla, his special friend, Mary Sikkens and his beloved dog, Buffy. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A Celebration of Jack’s Life to take place at Hoppies Tavern will be announced as information becomes available.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Jack’s family, C/O Kathy Waybrant, P.O. Box 286, Topinabee, MI 49791. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
