Obituary for John W. “Jack” McKnight John W. ‘Jack’ McKnight, Sr., 84, of Lewistown, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 4:55 p.m. on Thursday December 13, 2018 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 9, 1934, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Ruth (Goss) McKnight-Young and Merle McKnight. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard McKnight.

John will be remembered and missed by his loving wife, Pat (Smith) McKnight, whom he married on November 23, 1957, children, John McKnight, Jr. and wife Julie of Washington, and Ellie Sievers and husband Mark of Lewistown, a half-sister, Maryanne Young and a step-sister, Jean Ocker all of Bellefonte, and Grandchildren, John McKnight, III, Carlyn and Kathryn Hinish, and Ashley and Ryan McKnight. John was a 1952 graduate of Girard College. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1952-1957.

After serving his country, John worked in printing, and then the Standard Steel as an inspector. He was a member of the Lewistown Alliance Church, the Marine Corp League, and in his free time, he loved photography, calligraphy, fly-tying, and fishing at his camp in Licking Creek. A funeral service in loving memory of John will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 18, 2018 at Lewistown Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Ave.

, Lewistown, with Rev. Neil Breneman and Rev. John Looney to officiate.

There will be a viewing held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of the Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
