Johnny Lee Compton, age 81 of Harned, KY died Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Garfield, KY. He was born in Garfield on January 28, 1938, the son of the late Peyton and Jettie Carman Compton. Johnny retired from the Breckinridge County Road Department.

He had many interests that include fishing, woodworking, keeping his yard mowed and looking nice, playing Rook, spending time with his family and meeting friends at Hardees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sue Compton, 2 sons – Frankie and Jason, sisters Ressie, Catherine and Ray Wanda, brothers James , Carol and Hollis. Johnny is survived by 2 sons – Mark Compton (Annette ) and Jeff Compton of Garfield, KY 3 daughters – Lynne Taul of Harned, KY Pam Compton (Bobby) of Garfield, KY Peggy Carwile (Rob) of Kingswood, KY 2 adopted daughters – April Compton of Hardinsburg, KY Melissa Hamilton (David) of Flaherty, KY many grandchildren and great grandchildren 1 brother – Tom Compton of Georgia 2 sisters – Betty Dozier of Mississippi and Shirley Mattingly of Harned, KY Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11 AM with Rev.

Jeff McMichael officiating. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 3:30 – 8 PM and Wednesday after 8 AM.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
