OBITUARY Johnny Young, Sr. June 3, 1943 – September 9, 2018 A Life Celebration for Johnny Young is scheduled for 2 PM, Monday, September 17, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Clyde Miley will service as officiant. Inurnment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

John and Lolita Young welcomed Johnny Ray into this world on June 3, 1943 in Purvis, MS. He was a man of few words, but in his own way loved his family very much. His hobbies included watching old western movies, fishing, video poker and spending time with his sisters.

Mr. Young passed peacefully on September 9, 2018, surrounded by family. He was 75 years old. Preceding Johnny in death are his parents; wife, Janelle Young; siblings, Eloise, Willie, Opal and Tommy; and brothers-in-law James Downs and Doug Talley.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, DeDe Haire with husband Michael; sons, Johnny Young, Jr. with wife Linda and David Young; the mother of his children, Joyce Jordan; Erin Halvorson with husband Corey; sisters, Carolyn Downs and Eretta Talley; sister-in-law, Dorothy Young; 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
