Obituary of Johnny Moody Johnny Ray Moody, age 49, of Mt Gilead passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at his home. Johnny was born July 27, 1968 in Chatham County and was presently employed with McRae Footwear Industries. Johnny was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who always put his family first.

He had a passion for deer hunting and was an avid Duke Blue Devils and Yankees fan. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Chappell Moody of the home; two sons: Wilson Chappell III of Ellerbe and Kevin Chappell and his wife, Destiny of Ellerbe; two daughters: Kimberly Jenkins of West End and Briteny Chappell of Rockingham; 13 grandchildren; father: Randy Moody of Bear Creek; mother: Shirley Weaver of Erwin; two brothers: Bobby Lewis Moody and Tommy Edward Moody both of Bear Creek; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. The Moody family will receive friends Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Southside Freewill Baptist Church, 660 Sandy Ridge Church Road, Ellerbe with Rev. Ricky Jacobs and Rev. Joe T. Beane officiating.

Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 590 Hydro Road, Mt. Gilead. Online condolences to the Moody Family at: www.
