Obituary of John Ramsey, Sr. John P. Ramsey, Sr., age 67, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 25, 1950 in Wood River, IL and was retired from Exelon where he was a work analyst at Dresden Generating Station. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He loved baseball and played on several teams in addition to coaching for many years. He was a member and past president of Belmont AC, a member of Ingalls Park AC, and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathleen M. (nee McLean) Ramsey of Joliet; three sons, William (Lisette) Ramsey of Collinsville, IL, John Ramsey, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, and Brian Ramsey of Joliet; one granddaughter, Riley Ramsey; two sisters, Betty Darby and Sharon Pritchette, both of Joliet; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret (nee Smith) Ramsey. Visitation for John Ramsey, Sr. will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and interment will be private.
