Mr. Joseph Bagley Cribb, 94, affectionately known as “Brother Joe”, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday morning (January 20, 2019) in Waycross. He was born on November 2, 1924, in Waresboro, GA, but he lived most of his life in Waycross, GA. Joe graduated from Waresboro School in 1941.

He served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Atlantic Coastline Railroad as an engineer after 42 years of service. In his early years, he was a coach for Waresboro girls in softball and basketball.

Brother Joe was a faithful man of God and attended Bible Heritage Church of over 70 years. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Daley Norwood Cribb and Gussie Gillis Cribb; one son, Joseph Bagley Cribb, Jr., affectionately known as “Jody Boy”; great grandson, Brayden Dekker Patterson; and two sisters, Sara Cribb Merritt and Jurrell Cribb Strickland. Survivors include his lovely wife of 72 years, Ruby Marion Britt Cribb; five children, Bonnie Cribb Patterson (husband Phil), Dale Cribb Scott (husband Edward), Joel Cribb (wife Sherry), Don Cribb (wife Lisa) and Thomas Andrew Cribb; ten grandchildren, Keith Patterson (wife Mindy), Kerry Patterson Norris (husband Jimbo) of Valdosta, Kelly Patterson (wife Julie) of Watkinsville, Rev.

Christian Walker (wife Tina), April Ernest (husband James) of Folkston, Callie Scott Cox (husband Stevie), Rebecca Scott Musgrove (husband Jason), Brittany Cribb, Joseph Brenton Cribb of Athens, and Holly Cribb of Valdosta; one sister, Evelyn Cribb McDaniel of Waycross; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (January 23, 2019) at Bible Heritage Church. A private burial will be held at Kettle Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Music Funeral Home. The Joymakers of Bible Heritage are requested to meet 1:40 p.m. Wednesday at the church to serve as honorary pallbearers. Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
