He was born in Merritt Island, FL on July 23, 1933 to the late Richard and Carritha Wynn. He was the eighth child of eighteen children. Mr. Wynn was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Ministry.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age. He made his home in Millwood for over 40 years before moving to Waycross. While in Millwood he enjoyed farming, planting vegetables, fishing and building things with his with his hands.

He loved everyone he met and his smile would light up the entire room. George was a giver and had a heart of gold. He was a great husband, a marvelous father, spectacular grandfather and the best neighbor and friend.

George worked for and retired after 23 years, from the City of Waycross. . He also worked for Cady Bag in Pearson, GA.

During his earlier years he was employed with Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by the love of his live after 49 years of marriage, Gussie Cox Wynn and his daughter, Paris Ford. On Thursday, January 31, 2019 God dispatched his angel to Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL to bring Bro.

Wynn home from his earthly labors to his eternal rest after an extended illness. He is survived by his daughter, Latrece Moore (George); former son-in-law, Robert Owens, Sr. all of Waycross; his son, Jerome Gibson of Cocoa, FL; four grandchildren, Robert Owens, II (Jordan) of Waycross, Amber McPherson (Revin) and Alecia Arnold (Adrain) both of Tampa, FL and Shakelia Wood (Michael) of Fort Lee, VA: nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Williams of Newark, NY, Mable Osborne of Rockledge, FL, and Carrie Wynn of Las Vegas, NV; four brothers, Richard Wynn of California, Nathaniel Wynn (Rebecca) of Cocoa, FL, John Wynn of Cocoa, FL, in-law, Minnie McClendon of Waycross, Evelyn Huggins (George), Shirley Woodson (Jimmy) all of Atlanta, GA, Rose Cox (Terry) of Nicholls, GA, Thomas Rawls (Dottie) of Colonial, NJ, one god grandchild, Ashanti Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and sorrowing friends.
