Joseph Dupree Hunt November 10, 1949 – March 11, 2019 Joseph Dupree Hunt, age 69, passed from this life at Rose Haven Retreat in Atlanta TX, Monday, March 11, 2019. He was born November 10, 1949 in Atlanta TX. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Lafayette Hunt and Emma Olene (Dupree) Hunt.

He is survived by his devoted wife Patricia (Treadway) Hunt; brother James Lewis Hunt and wife Glenda of Longview TX; and numerous family members and friends. Joseph was a Baptist Minister and sold insurance. He worked for the Dallas Morning News for 20 years and delivered papers for the Texarkana Gazette for seven years.

He was a people person and never met a stranger. He loved talking to and visiting as well as ministering to people. He was Pastor for several churches in Cass County TX and in Hope AR during the 40 years of his ministry.

He will be missed by family, friends, and those that he spent long hours serving. His absence will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. Although he and Patricia never had children of their own, all of their nieces and nephews new them as parents.

Services will be under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home. Visitation services will be held Thursday evening, March 14th beginning at 6:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be the next afternoon, March 15th beginning at 2:00 PM and ending at 3:00 PM.

Joseph will be interred at Douglasville Cemetery immediately following his funeral services. The Hunt family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Rose Haven Retreat and Cima Hospice for their kind care during Joseph’s final time on earth.
