Mr. Joseph Edward Lawrence, of Fayetteville, passed away December 31, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Lawrence was born April 3, 1930 in Michigan to the late George and Mildred Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel (Baby Gal) Lawrence, two grandsons, David Hakola, Benjamin Whitman and 1 great granddaughter, Ashley Ann Drexler-Lawrence.

He served in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Lawrence is survived by four sons, David Lawrence (Linda), William Lawrence (Lori), Robert Lawrence (Carolyn), and John Lawrence (Judy), four daughters, Cheryl Lawrence, Mary (Donna) Johnson (Ray), Mallie (Tonni) Hakola and Christina Lawrence, 29 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 Friday, January 4.

2019 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford, NC A Celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in the Raeford Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
