Joseph H. Bouback, 93, of Rockton, IL, passed away on May 23, 2018 at Highview in the Woodlands Shelter Care. Joe was born 1925 in Pontiac, MI. In 1944 he joined the US Army.

During a military leave while watching the boat races at Rockford’s Sinnissippi Park, he met his wife Dolores Dohse. They were married and Joe was deployed to the Philippines soon after. When Joe returned home, he and Dolores started their family.

They had five children, but sadly lost their daughter Kristine at age 2 from Polio. After a move to Illinois, Joe finished his training to become a Journeyman Electrician and embarked on a career of “enlightening” the country. Okay, maybe not, but he did work on many interesting projects.

Most notably he installed the light at the top of the Belvidere Chrysler plant water tower, and wired missile silos in Wyoming. Joe lived in Cheyenne, WY for 30 years. He retired from IBEW local 415.

He and Dolores spent their retirement winters in Yuma, AZ. While in Cheyenne he was an active VFW member and volunteer. He enjoyed watching baseball, camping, fishing, trips to casinos, and traveling through the western United States visiting family and friends along the way.

In 2004 they moved back to be near family settling in Wautoma, WI. Joe and Dolores celebrated 65 years together until her death in 2010. Joe is survived by sons, Joe (Pat) Bouback, Doug (Linda) Bouback both of Poplar Grove, IL; daughters, Kathy (Roger) Feucht of Janesville, WI, Cheryl (Peter) Hattrup of Spokane, WA; sisters, Mary Loper of Freeport, IL, Carol Mason of Lakeland, FL; brother, David Bouback, Detroit, MI; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his parents; wife, Dolores; daughter, Kristine; and 5 siblings. A very special thank you to the Highview of the Woodlands Staff for the loving and compassionate care they gave Joe. He enjoyed his time there for sure!

A celebration of life will be held from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 in the Club House at Candlewick Lake Subdivision, Rt. 76, Poplar Grove, IL. Directions will be at the Rt.

76 gate entrance. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Northern Illinois Hospice.
