Obituary for Mr. Joseph J. Kurtyka Joseph J. Kurtyka, age 81, Army Veteran, of Chicago passed away July 13, 2018; Beloved husband of Margaret Kurtyka, nee Gnoza, for 47 years; Loving father of Karen (Eric) Shaughnessy and Joseph (Stacey) Kurtyka; Devoted grandfather of Olivia and Conner Shaughnessy; Loving son of Jon and Mary Kurtyka and cherished brother of John, Edward, Stanley and Anne (Edward), who preceded him in death; Dear uncle of Edward (Lucy) Gonke, Robert (Barbara) Gonke, great uncle of Anthony Gonke, Annie Capotosto, and Robert Gonke. Fond Godfather of Peter Vina. Lifelong friend to many who felt like family to him.

Joseph was a barber for many years in the Belmont Cragin area and Downtown Chicago. He will be known as a lifelong Chicago sports fan especially of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Visitation Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until time of Chapel Service 10:30 a.m. at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave.
