Joseph “Joe” Alan Barth, 63, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife (of over 43 years) Mary Hiers Barth; three sons, Micah (Brandy), Joshua (Ashby), and Jonah (Kristen); one sister, Ann Barth Lee (Byron); two brothers, Steve Barth (Jayne) and Brian Barth; two grandsons, Grayson and Liam (and a 3rd grandson Cameron due in August); Betty Hiers (mother-in-law) and Suzanne Barth (stepmother); and many other close family and friends. He was born in Palmyra, PA on June 24, 1954 to the late Joseph Stanley Barth and Louise Cullum Barth.

Joe graduated from Great Mills High School (Patuxent River, MD) in 1972 and he attend Florida Junior College. He worked as a Lead Machine Adjuster at UniSource for 20 years, and then later set up his own locksmith business. Joe was passionate about woodworking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

He also attended Hibernia Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Orange Park Women’s Club, 135 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073. Please be aware that there is heavy road construction around the Orange Park Woman’s Club.

There is street parking located on Kingsley Avenue and Reed Street. Additional parking should be available at the adjacent properties as well. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s name to the Gabriel House of Care which is associated with Mayo Clinic.

The purpose of Gabriel House is to provide affordable, temporary lodging in a “community of healing” environment for adult organ transplant and cancer patients and their caregivers who come to Jacksonville for medical treatment.
