Joseph John Aha III, 84, of Gallagher Township passed away October 12, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 4, 1934 to Joseph J. Aha Jr. and Augusta Aha (Segletes), Son-in-Law to William L. Ruch and Mae V. Ruch, Grandson to Anna Aha. Joseph served in the United States Army as a Quarter Master during the Korean War.

He was a hunter education instructor for the State of NJ, Boy Scout Master, and a special police officer in Collingswood, NJ were he and his wife raised their family. He liked sailing and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. After a lengthy career with Bancroft Neuro Health, Joseph and his wife retired to their hidden paradise in the mountains.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ersula R. Aha (Ruch), sister Ellen R. Wilson, children, Dawn E. Hughes, Ersula M. Beavan (William R. Beavan), Christian W. Aha (Maureen Aha), Cindra Bean, (Otto H. Bean IV), also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly M. Beavan, Benjamin J. Aha, Jeffrey A.R. Aha, Aidan J. Aha, Elizabeth A. Bean and Otto H. Bean V. Memorial services with full military honors will be held, Saturday, October 20th, at People’s Church of Caldwell, 11376 Coudersport Pike, (Route 664) Lock Haven, PA 17745. Calling hour will be at 12:00PM followed by a church service at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the People’s Church of Caldwell, PO Box 60 514 McElhattan Dr. McElhattan, PA.
