Obituary for Joseph P. McLaughlin Sr. Joseph P. McLaughlin, Sr., 84, of Aldan, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born in Philadelphia on March 21, 1934, the son of the late Philip and Marion (Gallen) McLaughlin. Joseph has been living in Aldan for 10 years, formerly of Bucks County and Philadelphia, PA.
He just celebrated his 84th birthday and a 17th heart transplant anniversary. Joe served our country in the U.S. Air Force where he was one of the first to spot Sputnik, sold steel that built our country, and made an impact on the lives of his many friends. He had a passion for music lived out on the stage of USO, the Paul Whiteman TV Teen Club and most recent years on stage at his local Karaoke night.
He did it his way. Survivors include his former wife, Mary Anne; three sons, Joe (Kelly) McLaughlin, Jr. of Glenside, Tom McLaughlin of Doylestown, and Dan (Erin) McLaughlin of Virginia; brother, Phil McLaughlin; and nine grandchildren. Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Ed McLaughlin and brother, Bill McLaughlin.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Williams Lombardo Funeral Home, 33 W. Baltimore Ave. , Clifton Heights, PA 19018 and on Thursday, April 19, 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 316 E Broadway Ave, Clifton Heights, PA 19018. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning, 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church.
Interment will be private at a later date in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Joseph McLaughlin Memorial Fund c/o Roman Catholic High School Alumni Association, 301 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19107.
