Joseph Paul Giordani, (AKA GIO/ AKA Uncle Joe) ,68, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2018. Joe was a graduate of Catholic Central HS and Broome Community College. He served in the US Army from 1974-1976.

He was employed at General Electric, Johnson City NY and Instruments for Cardiac Research, Syracuse as an electronic engineer for several years and most recently at the American Legion Post 80, Binghamton, NY. Joe was a kind, caring, creative, reful person who was a friend and a confidant to many. His passions included social justice and music, most notably the Grateful Dead and his funeral will be tye dye friendly and encouraged.

Joe loved family and like his father loved to cook. He and his sister, Mary Beth, prepared many a feast at her home for family and friends. He particularly enjoyed cooking for his nephew, Vinnie and his family.

He and his sister looked forward to making and sharing gourmet picnic lunches each year for one of their favorite events, Blues on the Bridge where they had a wonderful time dancing in the street. Joe was very proud of his relationship with his nephew Tim and daughter Zoe and talked about them often. He had a special fondness of his nephews, Joe and Justin, and great nieces, Areianah and Sierrah, who he helped in so many ways, his sister raise.

He was so very proud of his nieces Chris and Renee and loved them dearly. Joseph is preceded by his parents, Anthony and Eileen Giordani and nephew Justin Barton. Joseph is survived by his daughter Michelle Levine, who he was thrilled to be recently reunited with, her husband Howard, grandchildren Haden and Jamison, brothers Ernest and Anthony Giordani, sister in law, Phyllis Giordani and his sister and best friend, Mary Beth Giordani.

Joe is blessed to be loved by so many including his nieces, nephews and their children. Joseph, Marshall daughters, Areianah, and Sierrah. Vincent, (wife Brookie), Giordani daughters Cassandra, Gina, Marlena, Michelle, and Josie.

Christine Sheffer daughter Tara. Timothy, Giordani daughter Zoe. Renee Giordani, children Christian, Richard, Jenna, Gianna.

As well as many dear friends, including but not limited to Duke, (Aunt) Shelly, CJ, Ryan, Kelly and Sheila. Joe will be dearly and deeply missed by all. A memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home, 483 Chenango St. Binghamton.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am. He will be entombed in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
