William “Butch” Burns, Sr., 73, of Binghamton passed away June 20, 2018 at Willow Point Nursing Home after a valiant and courageous battle with declining health and illness – he fought like a champion to the end. Butch is survived by his beloved family, his wife of 42 years, Phylllis (Fairbanks) Burns of Binghamton, twelve children; William Burns, Jr., Floyd R. (Rachel) Burns, Amanda (John) Moran, Brittney Bunger (Cody Diehl), Reed Babcock, William Babcock, Amy Babcock, Melinda Burns, Marjorie (David) Rought, Jackie Fiske, Scott Fiske and Bambi (Tom) Madden, 45 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, including a special great-granddaughter Elayna Diehl, his siblings, Virginia Baker, Patricia Desmond, Deborah Spencer, Floyd Burns, Tracy Burns, Beverly LaBarre, Charmaine (Chas) Fisher, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Butch loved country music and dancing.

He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing and repairing anything that was broken. He was a very loving and devoted father to both his children and Phyllis’s children who he raised as his own. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the Blessed Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church, 225 Bevier St. Binghamton.

Cremation services provided through the Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home.
