Obituary for Mr. Joseph R. Tomaino Joseph Richard Tomaino, 84, of Brick Township, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Joe was born of Joseph and Julia Tomaino in Long Branch. He served in the United States Air Force and was then employed at Jersey Central Power and Light for 37 years.

Joe was a dedicated father to his sons after the death of his wife, Barbara and daughter, Kathryn. In his earlier years, he was an accomplished bowler and sports enthusiast. His later days were spent yelling at the TV during a Yankees or Giants game.

His love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Anthony, Matt, and Laura, who brought joy to his life and will miss him dearly. Joe leaves a legacy of being a kind and gentle soul, loved and respected by all who knew him. Joe is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Martin) Tomaino who brought him much happiness for over 30 years.

He leaves behind his two devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Kristina Tomaino of Oakhurst and Michael and Michele Tomaino of Point Pleasant; sister, Patricia Manna, loving nephews William Manna, Mark Maguire, and Scott Maguire, and great-nieces, Samantha and Katlynn Maguire whom he adored. Friends and family are welcome to gather on Sunday from 2 to 4pm at Ely Funeral Home, Route 33, Neptune. A funeral mass will be offered 10:00am on Thursday, July 12 at Holy Innocents RC Church, Neptune with burial to follow at Monmouth Memorial Park.
