Joseph V. Pezzuto August 18, 1921 – October 9, 2018 Joseph V. Pezzuto, 97, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave. , Michigan City, IN with Rev.

Kevin Huber officiating. Entombment will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel of The Chimes Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:00 am – 10:00 am Wednesday at the Queen of All Saints Church Legacy Center.

He was born August 18, 1921 in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Samuel and Concetta (Schittino) Pezzuto. On October 9, 1948 in Our Lady of Sorrows, Chicago, IL he married Josephine Pistilli who preceded him on February 1, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Louis A. (June) Pezzuto and Samuel J. (Sherry) Pezzuto, both of Michigan City, IN; seven grandchildren, Christian Pezzuto of Chicago, IL, Brett (Angela) Pezzuto of Scottsdale, AZ, Joseph (Kerry) Pezzuto of Phoenix, AZ, Andrew (Erin) Pezzuto of Chandler, AZ, Rachel (Jon) Hanson of Lansing, MI, Stephen Pezzuto of Tempe, AZ and Jeremy Pezzuto, U.S. Navy in San Diego, CA; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Pezzuto, Charlie Pezzuto, Vince Pezzuto and Norman Pezzuto; and his sister, Mary Pezzuto Paniccia. Joseph worked for Jim’s Fiesta and Al’s supermarkets. He and his beloved wife, Josephine, owned produce stores on Franklin Street and Highway 212, as well as Henry’s Drive-In.

Fulfilling his passion, he was a real estate broker until the age of 83. He truly enjoyed working in his garden, growing raspberries, pumpkins, tomatoes, and corn. He was extremely generous to his family and friends with his time, talents, and treasures.

He treated everyone like his family. Joseph was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church for approximately 62 years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, 606 So.
