YOUNGSTOWN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday March 4, 2019 at St. Dominic Parish for Joyce Bialik, 73, who passed away on February 25, 2019 after a lengthy and courageous battle with Cancer. Joyce was born on August 16, 1946 in Alliance, the daughter of Dale and Pearl (Wogan) Gourley. She attended Campbell Memorial High School where she was a majorette and the Prom Queen of her graduating class in 1964.

Joyce worked as a Ward Clerk in the intermediate coronary care unit at St. Elizabeth’s hospital until 1976. Joyce had many hobbies that kept her busy. In the winter months, she was an avid bowler and played in several championship leagues at the Holiday Bowl.

In the summer months, she enjoyed freshly cut grass and golfing. Although you would rarely see her in the water, she also loved spending time at the family cottage in Lake Milton. She was a weekly regular at bingo but her most favorite past time of all was playing cards with her dearest friends at V.F.W Post 93.

Joyce loved her family and friends unconditionally and her generosity had no limits. She had a gift of knowing just what you needed before you knew for yourself. She took great pride in her home and her door was always open.

She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her house hungry. Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Marlene (Ed) Cooper, Monica (Ed Elsbury) Bialik, Johnny (Monica) Bialik, Christine (Shawn) Stevens, and Myrna (Alan) Peachock, her grandchildren, Maria (Jeramy) Devereaux, Michelle Peachock, Camille (David Diana) Broll, Alicia (John Stewart) Broll, Emily Stevens, and John Bialik, Jr., her 9 great grandchildren, her nephew Craig (Michelle) Gourley and her loyal dog, Mikey. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John K. Bialik, whom she married on November 29, 1975 and who passed on November 17, 2012, her daughter, Maureen Bialik and her brother, Charles “Chuck” Gourley.

The family has entrusted the care of Joyce to the Kubina Yuhasz Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday March 3, 2019. Please visit www. waskofamily.com to send the family condolences.
