Obituary for Joyce Geraldine Kenoly When you’re approached by a poor soul asking for money at the gas station or grocery store, before you deny them your spare change, consider Joyce Geraldine Kenoly — aka Sister Kenoly, Mama Kenoly, Mama Joyce, or just plain Mama — who believe in the power of charity. She believed giving made better people, strengthened a community, and brought people closer to God. Mama Kenoly took her place in the eternal Kingdom on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her home in Lewisville, Texas.

He spirit lives on through her children, umpteen grandchildren, and good luck counting the great- and great-great-grandchildren, as well as extended relations and loved ones from all walks of life. In her 84 years, she blessed countless people through her willingness to give of herself. She was always prepared to be a blessing to those around her.

Aside from being a devoted wife and mother, she was an accomplished businesswoman. Through her company, J.K.A., Mama Kenoly blessed people with an opportunity to provide for themselves and their families for three decades. She was very proud of her company, and its contribution to the city of Claremore.

She blessed her church family as well. As a 37-year member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, sister Kenoly served in many ways.

She ushered and sang in the choir. However, her favorite function may have been overseeing the benevolence room, which allowed her to use church res to uplift people in the community who were in need. Sister Kenoly could be counted on to aid those in need.

It was her sincere desire to be a positive influence in the lives of not just her family and friends, but anyone she happened to meet. Joyce Geraldine Kenoly was about love, kindness, and above all, generosity. If she was a blessing to you in some way, pass it along.

Mama said charity benefits everyone. Mama is survived by her children: Linda, Valerie, Connie, Anthony, Diana, and David; sisters, Wanda, Altha, Doretha, and extended family and friends too numerous to name. They all invite you to visit with Mama Kenoly 1-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore, and join the Homegoing Ceremony at Mt.

Zion Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 5. Sister Kenoly is now reunited with her daughter, Ruby, and with the love of her life, her political and cultural debating partner, and husband of 54 years, Curtis Kenoly.
