Juanita O’Brien Williamson passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018. She was born October 17, 1923 in Metter, Georgia to John O’Brien and Bessie Jordan O’Brien. Mrs. Williamson graduated from Metter High School, after which she lived in Dublin, Georgia for the remainder of her life.

As a young single woman she worked first at Woolworths and then Medders and Fuller’s Jewelry, both of Dublin. She married Foy E. Williamson July 3, 1954 to whom she was married fifty years and with whom she had three children. She was a current member of Springdale Baptist Church and previously a member of Saxon Heights Baptist Church.

She taught children’s Sunday School classes and sang in the choir throughout her years of service in the church. After her marriage to Mr. Williamson she was a homemaker for the remainder of her life. Fresh vegetables and homemade biscuits were hallmark symbols of her faithful, nurturing ways among people.

Family and friends were gifted by the loving tastes of her gifted hands. Being well fed by her was certainly about a good meal but also about being fed by the love, work and creativity of Mrs. Williamson. She will long be loved because of “the tastes” she left in peoples’ mouths and hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bessie O’Brien, her husband, Foy Williamson and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Andy (Vickie) Williamson of Dublin, GA, Dr. Craig (Catherine) Williamson of Manchester, GA and Sue (Duane) Harrison of Dublin, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren Mark (Sydney) Williamson, David Foy Williamson, Andilyn Williamson, John Williamson, Heather Harrison, Ethan Harrison and one great grandchild, Adelaide Williamson.

She is also survived by a brother Clinton O’Brien, Sr., a sister Helen Clark and brother in law, Flanders Williamson as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
