Obituary of Juanita Thomas Juanita Shoaf Thomas, 97, died February 2, 2019, at Brookdale Senior Living in High Point, NC. She was born at her home in Thomasville, NC, the youngest of four daughters on March 14, 1921, daughter of George Henry Washington Shoaf and Eppie Mae Phillips Shoaf. Juanita graduated from Hasty School.

In 1938, she moved to Asheboro where she married Henry Hampton Thomas, who predeceased her in 1988 after 49 years together. They raised four children and were members of Central United Methodist Church. She was a long-time employee of Hardin Furniture Company where she designed and made custom draperies.

She loved being with family, sewing, cooking holiday meals, exercising, and reading. Faith, forgiveness, and unfailing love were among her many personal attributes. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her son, Terry H. Thomas, and three sisters: Mildred Kennedy of Thomasville, Ava Walker of Greensboro, and Jane Brown of Asheboro.

Remaining to remember and celebrate her life are three children: Judi Osborne and husband Barry of High Point, NC, James Thomas of Greenville, NC, and Chris Thomas of Asheboro, NC, and six grandchildren: Shane Thomas of Marshall, NC, Meredith Berger and husband Erich of Greensboro, NC, Autumn Melino and husband Ryan of High Point, NC, Jake Thomas and wife Emily of Evans, GA, Melodie Barker and husband Josh of Gainesville, GA, and Justin Thomas of Florence, SC. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and niece Marlene Craver of Thomasville, NC, as well as members of the Henry H. Thomas family. Visitation will be at Pugh Funeral Home of Asheboro, NC on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Asheboro, NC, on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Dr. J.F. Howard, Sr., Fred Huffstetler, and Rev. Barry Osborne officiating followed by burial at Randolph Memorial Park. The family requests memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC 27203 or Hospice of The Piedmont, Inc., 1803 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
