Judith “Judy” O’Donnell Wade passed away September 29, 2018 surrounded by her family and loved ones after a brief, aggressive illness. Judy was born to Mary J. (Murphy) O’Donnell and Edwin J. O’Donnell on April 21, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from St. Joseph Grade School and St. Joseph High School in South Bend.

She attended St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN and Ivy Tech Vocational College. Judy was employed by and retired from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, IN working as a Medical Transcriptionist for 20 years. In 1963, Judy married Richard Pozzi who survives.

They are parents of three children. Mark Pozzi, Michele Gee (Donald), and Laurie Hesch, all surviving. In 1981, Judy and Oliver (Bud) Wade, Jr. were married until 2001 when cancer took his life.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Mary Jane and Ed O’Donnell, her husband Oliver and Oliver’s grandson, Seth Wade. Survivors include sisters, Karen Baert (Paul) of Howell, MI and Ann Mathews (Roger) of Newbury Park, CA and Aunt, Cecilia O’Donnell of Holy Cross Village. Three step children, Sandra Hoff, Oliver Wade III (Lora) and Carolyn Wade.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren. Koley Gee, Presley Gee, Joel Gee, Shane Gee, Murphy Pozzi, Brendan Hesch, Kyla Hesch, and Conor Hesch. Last but not least, survives Judy’s best friend of almost 60 years, Mary Bednar, who was an excellent caregiver during Judy’s last eight weeks.

Children and Grandchildren were always the center of Judy’s life. This life core focus was primary, followed by Judy’s love of travel. This was dominated by ten trips to and around Ireland, as all the best music, singers, dancers, authors, landscape, culture and fun are Irish!

On the home front, Judy’s joy was giving to all who are in need. She spent much time and love in support of the work of St. Augustine’s Parish in the Monday Soup Kitchen and frequent Home Delivery of food for St. Augustine’s St. Vincent DePaul Families and many other supportive needs. In Lieu of Flowers, the Family requests any donations may be sent to St. Augustine Catholic Parish, 1501 West Washington St., South Bend, Indiana 46619.

Cremated remains will be present at the Funeral Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Parish on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before Mass.
