Julia “Judy” Byington of Walden, NY, a longtime resident of the area passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in New Paltz. She was 88. The daughter of the late Gregory and Julia Daly Palamidas, she was born July 07, 1930 in New York City.

Judy was a member of Most Precious Blood Church. She formerly worked for the village of Walden for 29 years as an account clerk. Previous to that she was a food service manager for the Valley Central School District.

She loved making chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, and apple pie. She also loved going to Lake George, Cape May, and Bermuda. She was the widow of George Byington.

Survivors include her daughter Patty Taegder & her husband Greg of Montgomery, son Bob Byington & his wife Jennifer of Basking Ridge, NJ; grandchildren Lauren Taegder & her husband Timothy Hendrickson, Caitlin & Carolyn Byington; great grandchildren Carter, Ella, & Penelope Hendrickson; nieces & nephews and Guardian Angel cousin Peggy Welsh Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9:30-10:30am at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St.,Walden, NY 12586. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.
